[ You wake to a comfortable silence, warmth and softness surrounding you. The room is dim, but a little light comes into the room. Should you check, the room has an ornate clock that tells you it is still early-- only a few minutes after seven in the morning. Although it should be no difficult task to assess that this room is unfamiliar to you in every way; your last memories will be a bit herder to focus in on. But the haze will gradually lift and you will be left with a few simple facts.
This bed-- this room is not your own. Nor is it the last place you were.
You are not alone. There are at least two other people sleeping in beds like yours in this room.
Now that you are awake it is time to explore. As you do you will realize just how many others there are in this building. Meet with them and you will probably soon realize none of them know any more than you do. Still-- considering the situation it may benefit you greatly to work together.
It is likely that you will see portraits of some familiarity positioned throughout the building as well as some confusing writing posted in each of your rooms as well as just outside of the Ballroom.
Looking around you will notice that you have practically full reign of the house-- with one exception. It would appear that right now the office is locked. ]

[ Which he. Can't. Blue and orange morality is in effect. ]

[ Look at him, so polite.
Actually, he really hopes he's offended him. Fuck off, Van-san. ]

[ No dice, Akechi, he's actually really hard to offend. ]
I can venture a guess that if I could think like you, I wouldn't stand for this, yes. But I can't genuinely understand it. I cannot sympathize or empathize with that feeling.

Your justice is, apparently, kidnapping strangers and forcing them to murder each other, then subjecting them to criminal trials. While I approve of the trials, I cannot stand for the rest of it.

[ He's being very polite, but there's a sharpness glimmering in his eyes beneath his mask as he studies Akechi's reaction. ]
We aren't forcing anyone to murder another. Simply saying that, should you desire what we offer, then you must, quite literally, get away with murder. A fair price for a miracle, wouldn't you agree?
heavy spoilers in here fam
Van's offer catches him horribly off-guard. Really, he'd been building up to asking about those temptations, but it seems Van can't slam the brakes on this ride. Alright. That's fine. Akechi files that information away, like the good detective he is. More importantly...
Your greatest desire.
And that's an easy question, isn't it? Goro Akechi is no stranger to murder. Really, he's an experienced killer. Slip into the Metaverse, shoot a bullet into some poor fool's brain, and watch as they die in the real world. Simple, flawless, no evidence whatsoever. No sign that he's the one who caused their hearts to stop, that he forced the mental shutdowns.
Your greatest desire.
He'd kill anyone here. Anyone. They're strangers--even Kurusu, despite the friendliness between them--and that's more than a fair price to pay for Masayoshi Shido's life.
... Yet.
There's something in his eyes that might spell danger to anyone who looks a little closely. Then again, he's always been an expert at putting on a mask.
Akechi smiles lightly. ]
Innocent lives for something so selfish? You assume too much, Van-san.

[ He remains as friendly and bizarre as ever. If he's notice or not, he won't give a sign, but he does seem interested in Akechi. ]
I have personal hopes for you all, but... Perhaps now is not the time to discuss them. Still, I've given you quite a lot to think about, hm?

[ Ah, someone's bitter. But he's still smiling. How weeeeeeeeird. ]
That you have, but I won't be thanking you for it. I'm sure you understand.

[ It's okay, Van still likes you. ]

The logic is... indisputable, certainly, Van-san. I hope you don't mind my asking--should I wish to continue this conversation later, may I find you to speak in private?

[ Welcome to Hell, Akechi. ]
